In a previous episode, I explored lab-grown and natural diamonds, and explained that lab-grown diamonds are indeed diamonds, but with a few differences from their natural counterparts. Ultimately, I believe the choice should be left to the buyer.

However, I realized that I hadn't fully addressed one of the most common questions I get: "Aren't lab-grown diamonds and natural diamonds pretty much the same thing?"

I'll share three brief, real-life client stories in this episode that brought me to the proverbial "ah-ha!" moment. It dawned on me that regardless of their differences, lab-grown diamonds and natural diamonds are the same thing because of what they represent.

Whether it's a natural diamond or lab-grown, both serve as a means of self-expression, and help make women feel beautiful, powerful, cherished, and cared for. They are the great communicators of our world, bridging the gap between what we want to say and what actually comes out of our mouths.

My buddy, Jack, who didn't really care that much for jewelry understood the power of meaningful messages. He used to say that diamonds fill the gap between our hearts and our mouths, and believed in the importance of conveying powerful messages to the people he loved and cared for. He was a perfect example of a man who used jewelry when he needed it, just like you and me.

While debates and discussions about lab-grown and natural diamonds continue, I believe they are essentially the same things because of the role they play in helping us accomplish and communicate our emotions. Ultimately, both options fill that gap my friend Jack spoke of, so in that sense, yes...they are "pretty much the same thing."
